Got a question? Here are a few of the questions I get asked quite often. Chances are if you’re curious about it, so is someone else so check it out, man!

 

CAN I USE YOUR RECIPE ON MY SITE?

When our recipes are posted at a different location on the internet, that doesn’t give viewers much of a reason to visit our site.  As you can see, this negatively affects our blog and thus we do not allow our recipes to be used on other sites at this time.

CAN I POST YOUR PHOTOS ON MY SITE?

Absolutely! Thanks for the interest in our material! When you do, please link back to 1) the post that the photo was featured in originally and 2) a link to our homepage. This is actually helpful to our blog, so a big thank you from us!   😀

WHY DID YOU START A FOOD BLOG?

Tony (food photographer) and I (writer and food stylist) have been freelancing for several years doing the very same thing we do in this blog– writing about and photographing tasty, tasty food. We started creating our own recipes and photographing them, so it was only natural that we would start a food blog to share the tasty creations we love.

DO YOU TEST YOUR RECIPES?

Most definitely. If we didn’t test the recipes, they wouldn’t exist. What I mean by that is that each of the recipes are actually created during the testing process. I buy ingredients, throw them together, and write things down as I go on. Voila. If they don’t work, we try again until it’s amazing or trash it!

WHAT’S YOUR BACKGROUND IN FOOD/PHOTOGRAPHY?

Yes, Tony and I met in culinary school.  (We went here.)  Tony is a natural with food. His ability to break down flavors and techniques is truly amazing. For me, it has taken more work. I was in the restaurant industry from the ages of 18-28. I also worked as a personal chef and at a recreational cooking school as a teacher’s assistant.  Tony started photography in 2012 and is a self taught man.  He has always gravitated towards edible subject matter and who could blame him?  Yum!

On top of that, we spent some time organic farming together in North Carolina which has definitely shaped the way we look at food. Our lives just revolve around food and it has for many years.

CAN I HIRE YOU TO WRITE FOR MY BLOG AND/OR TAKE FOOD PHOTOS?

Why, certainly! As I have previously mentioned, by day Tony and I do freelance food photography and recipe development/writing. Please feel free to contact us and we’ll see what we can do for you.

HOW DO YOU COME UP WITH YOUR RECIPE IDEAS?

We love Mexican food, so it inspires many of our recipes. But we really love all kinds of food. We think about the recipes we love, then we imagine how we could make different or more unique. For example: Peanut brittle is amazing, so why not try it with pumpkin seeds instead? We test it and write down the ingredients and process as we go– and bam! It’s a recipe.
